I was extremely honored to be asked to write some music, and be a judge for a solo competition put on by Schecter Guitars, and Holiday Music, in China. It was a great experience! Really awesome to hear people soloing over the song I wrote! This is the finished track, but with my own solos. The winner of the contest got a new Schecter KM-7 MK-II guitar, so naturally, I'm playing one in this video! This is the newest Keith Merrow signature model from Schecter Guitar Research, the KM-7 MK-II!
Fantastic looking and playing guitar! If you've played any of the original KM-7 guitars, the mkII doesn't really feel much different. The differences are mainly cosmetic, with the body shape, the natural finish, fret markers, and the truss rod access point being the main ones.
The body shape I have to say is a little more comfortable, due to the carved upper edge of the body. The contoured edge of the guitar doesn't cut into your forearm as much. Not that original shape was uncomfortable at all, but I would say that the mkII shape is a little more comfortable than the original even.
