ഗോവിന്ദ തീർത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ഞാൻ അൽപ്പം വിവരിക്കാം.

ഇങ്ങോട്ട് വരുന്ന പാത വളരെ ദുർഘടം പിടിച്ചതാണ്. പക്ഷേ ഈ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകൾ തരണം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ജനങ്ങൾ പ്രായവ്യത്യാസമില്ലാതെ ഇങ്ങോട്ട് വരാറുണ്ട്. അതീവ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ വേണം മലകയറാൻ. ഇത്രയും പ്രയാസപ്പെട്ട് എത്തുമ്പോൾ ഇവിടത്തെ കുളിർമ്മയുള്ള കാറ്റും ഗോവിന്ദ തീർത്ഥവും കണ്ടു കഴിയുമ്പോൾ നമ്മുടെ എല്ലാ പ്രയാസങ്ങളും മറന്നുപോകും.

ഗോവിന്ദ തീർത്ഥം വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം മാത്രമല്ല. ചരിത്രപരമായ ഒരു ഐതിഹ്യം ഈ പ്രദേശത്തിനുണ്ട്. ശങ്കരാചാര്യർ തപസ്സിരുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണ് കുടജാദ്രി. മൂകാംബിക ദേവി ശങ്കരാചാര്യരുടെ തപസ്സിൽ സംപ്രീതിആയി. ശങ്കരാചാര്യരുടെ മനസ്സറിഞ്ഞ് ദേവി കേരളത്തിലേക്ക് പോകാൻ തയ്യാറായി. പിൻ തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കാൻ പാടില്ല എന്നുള്ള ദേവിയുടെ വ്യവസ്ഥയിൽ ശങ്കരാചാര്യരുടെ പുറകെ ചിലമ്പൊലി ശബ്ദത്തോടെ ദേവി പിന്തുടർന്നു. യാത്രയിൽ കുറച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ചിലമ്പൊലി ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കാതെ ആയപ്പോൾ ശങ്കരാചാര്യർ തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി. തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കിയത് കൊണ്ട് മൂകാംബിക ദേവി യാത്ര അവിടെ അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചു. ആ സ്ഥലമാണ് ശ്രീ കൊല്ലൂർ മൂകാംബിക ക്ഷേത്രം ആയി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.

കൂടാതെ, ഉപദ്രവകാരിയായ മൂകാസുരനെ വധിച്ചശേഷം ദേവി ത്രിശൂലത്തിലെ രക്ത കറകൾ കഴുകി ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച സ്ഥലമാണെന്ന് ഒരു ഐതിഹ്യം ഗോവിന്ദ തീർത്ഥത്തിനുണ്ട്. കുടജാദ്രി ഒരു പുണ്യഭൂമിയാണ് മുനിമാർ തപസ്സു ചെയ്ത സ്ഥലമാണ് കുടചാദ്രി. 64 തീർത്ഥങ്ങളും 64 അപൂർവ്വ ഔഷധസസ്യങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടെന്നു വിശ്വസിക പ്പെടുന്നു. ഈ 64 തീർഥങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതാണ് ഗോവിന്ദ തീർത്ഥം.

സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ പ്രശസ്തമായ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രമാണ്‌ കുടചാദ്രി.

നല്ല മഴക്കാലത്ത് ഗോവിന്ദ തീർത്ഥത്തിലേക്ക് പോവുക ഭയങ്കര ദുഷ്കരമാണ് അതുകാരണം താഴ്‌വാരത്തിൽ ശ്രീ വിശ്വംഭര മഹാഗണപതി ശ്രീ ഗോവിന്ദ ശ്രീ കോടി ലിംഗേശ്വര മൂർത്തികളെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. മല കേറുന്നതിന് മുന്നേയും മലയിറങ്ങി കഴിഞ്ഞു ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ ദർശനം ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട്.

ഗോവിന്ദ തീർത്ഥം ട്രക്കിങ് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവർക്ക് ഏറ്റവും പറ്റിയ സ്ഥലമാണ്. കാട്ടിലെ ഇടുങ്ങിയ വഴിയിലൂടെ നടന്നു മല കെയറുകേയും തിരിച്ച് ഇറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന അനുഭവവും പറഞ്ഞറിയിക്കാൻ പറ്റില്ല അത് അനുഭവിച്ചുതന്നെ അറിയണം.

The waterfall is also known as Govinda Theertha, which falls from a height of 2500 feet from Korshi Betta; an extension of Kodachadri.
