Today we’re talking about a POWEFUL email sequence you can use to dramatically increase your open rates, retention rates, and keep people from unsubscribing! It’s called the Soap Opera Sequence and it’s a sequence you send out for the sole purpose of building a relationship with the people on your email list.


EMAIL 1: Introduction Email
Introduce yourself – set your list’s expectations by telling them about what’s coming up. Keep them curious and spark their interest so they’ll be inclined to stay.

EMAIL 2: Tell your story
Who are you and how did you get to where you are now? Talk about something dramatic like the lowest point in your life – explain how you got there, what you did wrong, and set things up for email #3.

EMAIL 3: Epiphany
This is where you tell your list how you figured things out and got out of that low point. Explain your epiphany, how you got there, what inspired you, and how it happened – set things up for email #4.

EMAIL 4: Results
This is where you talk about the success that came from that epiphany. You can feel free to end things here or move on to step 5 where you can ultimately sell your product.

EMAIL 5: Set the stage
If you have no product to sell, or want to continue building up on it, this is where you set the stage for that.


BONUS TIP: Get people to respond! have them ask a question or ask for a response to get into their inbox.
