Описание: Los Angeles, CA — October 2025 — The Festival Chapín de Los Ángeles, the largest Guatemalan festival held outside of Guatemala, proudly returns to Lafayette Park on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.
This two-day, family-friendly event is free and open to the public, celebrating the vibrant culture, traditions, and flavors of Guatemala through live music, cultural performances, artisan crafts, and authentic Chapín cuisine.
The 2025 festival theme honors Chichicastenango, Quiché, a region renowned for its Mayan heritage, mysticism, and cultural richness. Visitors will enjoy a variety of traditional Guatemalan dishes available for purchase, including garnachas, shucos, chicken pepián, enchiladas, and hilachas.
The official opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will take place at 3 p.m. on October 11, featuring community leaders and special guests.
Event highlights include:
Autograph signing and photo ops with Guatemalan professional boxer Lester Martínez, ranked fourth in the world boxing rankings.
A concert performance by the legendary Guatemalan rock band Alux Nahual.
A live show by Mala Fe, known for the international hit “La Vaca.”
The first-ever performance of the Official Marimba of the Los Angeles Chapín Festival, featuring marimba maestros from Guatemala.
The Festival Chapín de Los Ángeles draws a multicultural audience from across Southern California every year. Attendees can explore a wide range of food, beverages, arts, crafts, footwear, pottery, jewelry, clothing, and traditional Guatemalan textiles, available for purchase throughout the festival grounds.
The event spans a seven-block area in the heart of the Guatemalan community surrounding Lafayette Park, offering an immersive cultural experience for all ages.
