The hack gives you a warm welcome from the beginning, there is a great common sense on the author, as you find a great variety of elements and enemies on the levels, you don't feel as if you were running in a typical level, it's all correctly organized and calculated (coldly and scary, but calculated).
But, we still find the same problem: Difficulty.
The enemies are correctly placed, but if you start to run very fast, you'll definitely find yourself on a TRICKY situation; as the enemies keep luring, the ROM starts to get slow, causing speed differences, or simply, killing you. The problem is that the scenarios are exactly calculated so when you want to keep advancing fast, the enemies don't leave the screen, so you have enemies behind you, in front of you, over you, and (just in case you are in a pipe) below you!
And an INCREDIBLY annoying part of the game is that there is only 1 or 2 mushrooms per overworld, so being little Mario anytime isn't so comfortable, also considering the fact that there are no 1-UPS on any level, but I will not take a point of the gameplay space, not now.
Fortunately, it's nothing an skilled player can't get through, so it isn't annoyingly hard.
About the story, it's typical:
Ugly green dinosaur calls ugly red plumber to help, when ugly red plumber arrives, he finds out that ugly green dinosaur is gone.
Basically it's an excuse to take Yoshi out of the game, which discards the little point I didn't wanted to take on the gameplay space.
About the sprites, they are used wonderfully, there are no bugs, but I guess I already mentioned the little problem with locations.
The worlds are good ideas, and they're correctly designed, but some of them are very long and there are no save minibars, combining this with the little Mario dilemma we have a pretty much average hack.
The hack is good though, it's enjoyable, so i hope this project is successful when it's done.
