Toto’s Rosanna, written by David Paich, is one of the most admired songs of the 80s — famous for its sound, feel, and Jeff Porcaro’s shuffle groove. Here’s our home-studio take on it.
Recorded with a great group of friends and musicians, this version brings together horns, percussion, drums, vocals, and me on multiple instruments. The aim was to capture the spirit of the original, while enjoying the challenge of recreating such a classic track in a more DIY setting.
It was a lot of fun to make, and I’m grateful for the energy everyone brought. Hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
