CommTank removed two existing 12,000-gallon underground gasoline storage tanks at the Southborough Public Works Garage and replaced the tanks with two 6,000-gallon aboveground double wall tanks. As part of this project, CommTank provided two complete working storage tanks, new fuel dispensing systems, leak detection and monitoring equipment, and fuel management system. The work included all material, equipment, labor, and testing to provide complete working systems.
The aboveground fuel storage tanks installed for the Town of Southborough were a UL-142, UL-2085 compliant, and double-wall horizontal tank manufactured by Stanwade Metal Products, Inc. They included a steel step system, vents, filling port, and fuel pump.
Scope of Work for installation of the fuel storage tanks included the following:
• Installed the new gravel base and the 10" tank concrete slab
• Installed Canopy
• Installed 6,000-gallon ASTs
• Installed overfill control valve
• Installed vents, gauges
• Installed fuel dispenser pump
• Installed leak detection and monitoring system, and fuel management system
• Permanent Pavement Installation

Performance Tests
After all components of the system were properly adjusted, the system was tested to demonstrate that it meets the performance requirements for which it was designed.
• The capability of each fuel pumps to deliver the indicated flow of fuel.
• The alarm and control panels are operational and perform as designed.
• Each fuel meter is operating accurately.
• Fuel Dispenser is operating accurately.
• Vent piping is clear of debris and each pressure/vacuum relief vent is operating properly.
• Anti-siphon valve is operational.
