He's got a lot of catching up to do------if he plans to cover as much territory as his fellow Republican presidential contenders already have.

Fred Thompson---who officially entered the presidential race Wednesday---is on the 'campaign trail...' and has hit the ground running....

The GOP candidate--a former Tennessee senator---turned actor---who's been touted by some as "the next Ronald Reagan" clearly knows that if you're going to run for president----you had better spend some time in New Hampshire...

On his first official visit to the state where diehard residents claim they''ll 'live free or die' ---- Thompson did his best to show that he too is firm in his beliefs....

He pledged Sunday to play catch-up....which means a lot of work ahead.

Thompson ---- a former television actor----recently seen on NBC's Law and Order is used to cameras---and as you can see there were plenty of them here --------giving the GOP presidential hopeful plenty of exposure --and time in the national spotlight...

Fred Thompson faces some obstacles in states LIKE New Hampshire..... that vote early in the presidential primary process.

His rivals have spent considerable time and money building organizations here and meeting with voters as they like it - one on one and in small
groups.
