A big success for wildlife conservation in India as the cheetah population crosses the 50 mark. Namibian cheetah Jwala (Namibian cheetah) has given birth to five healthy cubs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.
With the birth of these cubs, the total number of cheetahs in India has reached 53, including 33 cubs born on Indian soil. This marks the 10th successful litter under Project Cheetah, a historic initiative aimed at reintroducing cheetahs to India after they went extinct in the country decades ago.
The growing population shows encouraging progress for India’s wildlife conservation efforts and the long-term success of Project Cheetah.
