Описание: Welcome to Southern Oaks Middle School – Home of the Mighty Hawks, nestled in northern Port St. Lucie. We are dedicated to preparing our students for high school and beyond, leaving our Hawks equipped to SOAR.

Our mission - at Southern Oaks Middle School - is to ensure all students graduate from safe and caring schools, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and desire to succeed. Furthermore, we aim to continuously improve student achievement through a focus on the success of everyone. Our core business is the creation of challenging, engaging, and satisfying work for each student, every day. Our goal is every student future ready. With a compassionate and dedicated staff, we are ready to support our children in achieving their dreams in both Middle School and beyond.

Elective classes include Physical Education which provides an introduction to team and individual sports while exposing students to personal fitness. Art which provides exposure to visual art, including two and three-dimensional art. Business and Technology – which allows for students to earn industry certification on the pathway to work opportunities in addition to helping design our yearbook; our Superior rated Band which allows beginners to learn breathing and instrumental techniques moving into advanced Band that competes in Musical Performance Assessments and local showcases; Spanish language courses which allow our beginning students to explore world cultures and languages progressing towards becoming fluent listeners, speakers, and writers in the Spanish language; and Orientation to Careers which allows students to learn about specific career clusters and post-secondary opportunities and beyond, including hands-on learning from guest speakers and representatives from the individual career paths. In fact, to get our students future ready, we are one of the few middle schools that expose our students to a discovery day of the high school and college experience.

Our teachers and support staff engage the students in meaningful and challenging work each day. All staff are committed to fostering positive long-lasting academic and supportive relationships with every student preparing our Hawks to be future ready and equipped to soar. Through our focus on behavior supports, our students earn Hawk bills that reinforce their choices and behavior that can be exchanged daily at our PBIS store, in addition to quarterly school-wide events.
