Cranial Nerve Examination - In part six of this series we review CN-IX the glossopharyngeal nerve and CN-X the vagus nerve. The glossopharyngeal nerve provides motor sensory information to your mouth and throat. The vagus nerve (vagal nerves) are the primary nerves of your parasympathetic nervous system. This system helps control digestion, heart rate and the immune system. We you have a problem with the vagus nerve you could see your voice, experience throat problems, have an increased heart rate, experience brain fog, have excessively low or high blood pressure, and experience digestive issues.
