Walden, Emily Underwood-Lee, Hiroko Uenishi, and Gray Hill's chapter in Cultural Stations of Disability: A Moment in Discourse considers the evolution of Two Rhythms (formerly known as Touch Trust) an inclusive arts charity providing creative movement sessions for people with multisensory needs. Their work fosters the development of cultural capacity by and for people who live with profound and multiple learning disabilities. The chapter moves from the initial inception of the organisation with Dilys Price’s 1955 study of Laban’s movement techniques, through the evolution of Touch Trust, and on to the current work of Two Rhythms. We chart the journey between these cultural stations of artistic inception and evolution and explore how they both mirror and lead models of thinking in disability arts.
