At long last, the first of 14 episodes detailing Jeremy Clarkson's entire life story, from his humble-ish beginnings as a Doncaster lad growing up in a reconstituted farm house to the dawn of his journalistic career.
In memory of Chris Rea, whose passing was sadly announced mere hours after the final render of this video was created.
Sorry to disappoint any detractors, but it takes an awful lot more than some fraudulent copyright claims and a stubborn script supervisor with a sand-saturated stick up somewhere unsavoury to get rid of me. I otherwise remain steadfast in my goal to attain 100,000 subscribers, take on-board genuine, well-founded critiques to raise the quality and accuracy of my work as a whole, and become the #1 Top Gear-tangential YouTuber on the platform. I thank everyone who is helping me towards this goal, no matter how long it takes me. Relevant links should now be available in a separate tab.
I initially recorded the audio for this back in April/May, then promptly re-recorded it from scratch in September after I found myself dissatisfied with the initial attempt. It has largely remained unchanged since then, outside of a couple cuts for brevity's sake and a couple overdubs with lines I weren't too keen on. Editing began shortly prior to my visit of Birmingham in November, and was finished by the second week of December. The remaining week has been taken up by rendering, including various failed renders. But with the new version of Magix Vegas I decided to purchase (making this the first video I've ever made with a legitimate copy of Vegas), it renders much more effectively than before, meaning I could finally use my patented "FURP" algorithm (not so Frustratingly Unquick anymore!) to render the video in chunks, then as one whole. H265 as well, meaning the quality is way better than before, not that you'll particularly notice this on YouTube. That's how I plan to do things from now on in order to minimise render waste, as I need to re-render everything I've ever worked on since 2021, and this will take some time.
Footage of Cambridge University and the Radley College in particular, the latter sourced from BBC's "Public School" documentary, have been used for stand-in purposes owing to the general lack of publicly-available footage for Repton.
