I am a social worker who has had experience working within various disciplinary teams and a focus of my work has been around ensuring the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 are being upheld.
I am by no means a legal expert, however I do have some insight into what the Act looks like in practice. I know that it is something a lot of us find anxiety provoking but I also see its importance in terms of promoting human rights. I am always trying to improve my practice in this area and have discussions about it.
I am a best interest assessor which has given me further insights into Mental Capacity Act 2005 and a chance to reflect on the underpinning principles.
