$500 Ebay Find BOLO

He was a store display made of composition.
After the promotion was over, the company allowed stores to sell the displays, and people went crazy over Buddy Lee and so the stores decided to mass-produce the dolls. They continued making the dolls until the 60s. They stopped being made of composition shortly after WWII and were made of plastic after that. There are some modern reproductions as well. Those can be worth money to, especially if they still have their LEE clothes.
This doll was not marked and had a hole in his foot for the display stand. Some mass-produced dolls, in special outfits, can sell for even more than $500!
