In this episode of Simply Sapphic, we talk with Reverend Karen Woodworth, a lesbian pastor, who shares why being 2SLGBTQ+ was never a sin. We unpack where those beliefs came from, how they’ve impacted us as a community, and what healing from religious trauma can look like.
Regardless of where you stand with religion and spirituality, this conversation is about reclaiming your worth, your peace, and quelling the voice inside your head that repeats that you’re going to hell no matter what just because you’re queer.
ABOUT SIMPLY SAPPHIC
Simply Sapphic's mission is to cover everything we wish we knew when we came out of the closet.
In each episode, we’ll talk about things like...
🧑🧑🧒 Navigating hard family situations
💏 Sapphic dating and relationships
🙇 Recovering from religious trauma
👯 Making queer friends
...and everything in between.
So if you’re trans masc, trans femme, non-binary, or a cisgendered woman who identifies as queer, and you’re looking for community and conversations about everyday experiences as a sapphic person, come to our launch party and tune in to our podcast!
WHAT DOES SAPPHIC MEAN?
If you haven't heard of the word sapphic before, no worries! The sapphic community includes cis and trans people who were assigned female at birth (AFAB) who date women as well as trans women who date women.
The word sapphic in our title was chosen because we wanted the podcast to be inclusive of all sapphic identities rather than exclusive to only one group (e.g. for lesbians only), so show up as you are 💜
