🍘 Crispy Korean Street Food: Seaweed Rolls (Gimmari)
A popular Korean street snack made simple at home! This recipe makes about 12 rolls (6 long wraps, cut in half) — crispy on the outside, chewy and savory on the inside.
🥢 Ingredients (approx):
– 130g (about 4 oz) dried glass noodles, soaked – makes about 2 cups
– 1/2 cup sliced onion
– 1/3 cup julienned carrot
– 2 tbsp chopped green onion
– 1/8 tsp salt
– 1/8 tsp black pepper
– 2 tbsp soy sauce
– 2 tbsp sugar
– 1 cup tempura flour (or all-purpose flour)
– 1 cup cold water
– 1 tsp curry powder (optional, adds flavor & color)
– 6 sheets of seaweed (gim), cut in half
– Plenty of cooking oil for frying
🔪 Tips:
– Adjust soy sauce and sugar to your taste before wrapping.
– No curry powder? You can skip it — still delicious!
– Dip in spicy tteokbokki sauce for the best flavor! 🔥
