What is Fortnite? #Fortnite is an online multiplayer game and creative platform, where players of all ages can safely interact, compete, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that Fortnite combines fast-paced action with powerful creative tools that let players build and share their own experiences. Fortnite is designed for teens and above, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an outfit (avatar) and giving it an identity. They can then explore Fortnite — interacting with others by chatting, teaming up, battling opponents, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player can access different game modes, including Battle Royale, where players fight to be the last one standing, and Creative mode, where they are given their own island along with a full set of tools to design and build anything — be it a competitive arena, an obstacle course, a role-play map, a story-driven adventure, or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost to start playing Fortnite. By participating and playing matches, Fortnite players can earn experience, unlock rewards, and collect in-game currency called V-Bucks. In turn, they can shop the in-game store to purchase outfits, emotes, wraps, and other cosmetic items to customize their experience.
