Vatapachi dal
Ingredients:
Tur dal
Vatan-onion,ginger garlic,freshly grated coconut,dry coconut.
For tempering: Rai (mustard seed)- 1 tspn
Hing- a pinch
Curry leaves
Garlic -7-8 cloves
Onion-half chopped (optional)
Spices- malvani masala /mix masala /red chilli powder (whichever is available)-1-2 tablespoon
Haldi (turmeric)-1 tspn
Garam masala-1 tspn
Salt to taste

kokam-2-3
Method:
First boil the tur dal, i have boiled in wok, (u can boil in pressure cooker also)
Keep the vatan ready ie(grind it and keep aside)
Take a wok,put oil,once heated.
Put hing,rai ,curry leaves, garlic and onion and saute it till it frys properly.
Now put the spices malvani masala,haldi,garam masala.
and put the vatan and stir nicely , so all the spices will be blended properly.
Now put boiled dal and water according to the consistency of dal.
Put salt , and kokam
Bring it to a nice boil on high flame.
Now your dal is ready
