Important tips related to cyber awareness:
- Be cautious of unknown calls and callers: If anyone calls claiming to be a bank/customer care official and asks for information related to your credit card, net banking, or UPI, do not trust such calls. 2- Use screen sharing apps with extreme caution: Do not install or use AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or other screen sharing apps at the behest of any unknown person. Your OTP, password, credit card details, and banking information can fall into the hands of criminals during screen sharing.
- Be wary of social media offers: Be cautious of attractive advertisements, links, and messages related to credit cards or loans on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, etc.
- Never share your OTP and password: Banks, credit card companies, or any other institution will never ask for your OTP, CVV, or PIN. If such a request is made, immediately disconnect the call.
- Report fraud immediately: In case of any cyber fraud, immediately call the 1930 helpline or register a complaint on cybercrime.gov.in.
