Binigyang-diin ni Sen. Chiz Escudero, ang tumatayong presiding officer sa impeachment trial ni VP Sara Duterte, na ang conviction threshold na 16 votes ay alinsunod sa umiiral na batas ngayon, base sa probisyon ng Konstitusyon.

Ayon kay Escudero, hindi nila ito pinagkasunduan ng kapwa Senator-Judges, kundi'y batay umano ito sa desisyon ng Korte Suprema sa Bayan vs. Zamora.
