Описание: Novelty monorails have mostly typecast the technology and as a result, dashed hopes for true transit monorails in the USA. Nevertheless, novelty monorails have provided many Americans with their first monorail experience. The Los Angeles County Fair Monorail operated from 1962 to 1996 and provided memories to millions of fair visitors in that time. The original fourteen 24-seat cars were replaced with ten 40-seat cars in 1990 during a major system renovation. The new Arrow Development-built cars were plagued with problems from day one and the system was removed in 1996. A similar short-lived Arrow monorail in Las Vegas suffered the same fate (Excalibur-Luxor). Four minutes of forward-view POV (point of view) footage is included. This video was taken two years before the original cars were replaced, and was part of a year of monorail research the videographer had decided to undertake. That year of research would result in the 1989 founding of The Monorail Society.
