The baby was born, the labor was hard,
His countenance shining, was a quick reward,
To know that the baby would be the great king,
That peace to the weary, he would bring.
It may sound funny when people say,
the savior king was born, in a manger he lay,
but the purpose was set a part of the plan,
that brought a piece of heaven, down to man.

No little was thought on that day long ago,
of how this little baby would change history so,
A hint of just how this thing would be done,
was when looking so peaceful, came Jesus the Son.
The messiah, the king, the conqueror fair,
Born in the manger, in Bethlehem there,
The angels, and stars directed them go.
To see Christ the Baby who'd change history so.

Little they knew, those who gathered there,
and if they did, would they even care,
that the one they worshipped and came to see,
would become the young wonder of Galilee?
At that time, no one knew that the promised one,
would be like a peasant, work from sun to sun.
would not be the conquering hero or benevolent king,
that many thought the prophesy would bring.

Looking at others for who he would die,
Causing a peace and tranquility,
to fall on all those who had come to see,
The king lowly born, laying in the hay,
surrounded by animals, on that special day,
taking all in as only He can,
Leading us all to the salvation of man.
