This video shows an example application of a framework developed to aid the development and verification of attitude control systems for small satellites. The framework comprises three "in-the-loop" concepts created in order to provide developers with a simulation environment with different levels of granularity that allow several levels of tests.
In this case, a non-linear controller, designed for a small satellite with three magnetic actuators, performed a test in a hardware-in-the-loop simulation. The controller runs in the actual on-board computer and the dynamic models of the body and the environment are simulated by MATLAB together with STK.
The goal is to achieve a desired spin rate in order to increase stability.
