This is the second of two paintings I have done from a visit to Peckover House and Gardens in Wisbech Cambridgeshire during the Summer of 2012. It also happens to be my first video and painting of 2013. Peckover House is a beautiful, grand, early 18th century riverside town-house with a breathtakingly beautiful garden. We visited the house in July on a gloriously sunny day when the garden was at it's colourful best. I came away from the visit with not only the video, (link above), but a number of photographs which I decided would make great subject matter for paintings - the Garden Cottage was one such photo.
The painting is done using acrylic paint onto heavy cartridge paper. Thanks for watching.
