Описание: Today’s video is a solo wild camp at Alport Castles in the breathtaking Peak District!

Alport Castles, often referred to as “nature’s own fortifications,” isn’t your average camping destination. It’s a place where history, geology, and the great outdoors converge. Not to mention Alport Tower you can climb to take in the views. Awesome place!

🏞️ The Formation of Alport Castles: Alport Castles isn’t a traditional castle, but rather a natural wonder. It was formed during the last Ice Age, approximately 10,000 years ago, when massive ice sheets carved out this unique formation. The result? A striking collection of gritstone towers and cliffs that resemble the battlements of a medieval castle. Nature truly is an artist!

🏕️ The Perfect Tent: My chosen companion for this adventure was the Fjallraven Abisko Lite 1, a true 4 season one-person tent that I last used back on the Coast to Coast last year. Given the uncertain weather, this tent was an excellent choice. I faced strong winds and relentless rain during the night, but the trusty Abisko Lite 1 held its ground, and was solid.

🌧️ A Wild and Windy Night: As the winds howled and the rain drummed on the tent, it’s in these moments that you truly appreciate the strength of your gear. The Abisko Lite 1 proved its worth and had a great nights sleep. I love listening to the wind and rain all night. I really have missed it.

🌅 Morning Glory: The real magic happened at dawn. As the first rays of sunlight pierced through the dissipating clouds, Alport Castles revealed its full glory. The blue sky painted a serene backdrop to the dramatic rock formations, making it a photographer’s dream. Why didnt i take my proper camera haha. It was cloudy at first so no actual sunrise but gorgeous from 8am.
