On Sunday the 14th of September 2025, the Yanchep Line was closed only on the extension section to allow a new water pipe to be constructed near the rail reserve as part of the new Alkimos desalination plant. This meant that trains terminated at Butler during the day time in scheduled operations for the first time since the line got extended in July 2024, although they were only using one platform with a short turnaround time unlike when Butler used to be the terminus and both platforms were used.
In this video we take a quick look at the train terminating at Butler remembering previous times with the Joondalup Line (although weirdly they have now removed the Butler announcements and destos from the system...), as well as talk about updates on the upcoming Royal Show and Byford services. I also took the 904 articulated buses to Yanchep and back, with a driver who just ended up serving normal 486, 492 and 495 bus stops along the way, but did not record as I had already done this in a previous video. They all had less than ten people on them as usual.
