In June, I went to the Keypot Garden Tour, which is an annual event in Keyport NJ. Keyport is a really cute little port town that was important in the early days of the oyster trade in NJ/NYC and has many beautiful victorian houses. The town went though a long decline, but has been reinvigorated in recent years. The garden is a nice way to see the community. Plus a lovely way to see many beautiful gardens!

Technically, I read my TBR spin book after this event, but it was too pretty to not include.

I mention that reading stories like these, of immigrant experiences, family relationships, multiple cultures, and more of the themes in this collection, never gets old. I certainly didn't mean it to sound like these were merely literary devices or made up scenarios. I meant more that we can always learn from books written by people who have had these experiences, or write about them.
