On August 29, 2017 Nintendo announced that it would be discontinuing Miiverse for both the Wii U and 3DS on November 7. They have stated they do not want to compete with other social media sites, and would rather focus on other things. The Miiverse icon will still appear on the Wii U and 3DS, but you will receive an error when trying to open Miiverse. Wii U Chat will no longer be available for use, and Wara Wara Plaza will use the default Miiverse posts from now on. How Will the Games be Affected by Miiverse Ending?

Super Mario Maker: You may still share levels, but no longer able to comment on them.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars (Wii U & 3DS): No longer able to share levels and get additional Stars. Therefore, not all objects will be available to obtain in one game in the Workshop.

Splatoon: Miiverse posts will no longer be displayed in Inkopolis or in stages.

Super Smash Bros. 4 (Wii U & 3DS): The Miiverse stage will still be playable, but will no longer display Miiverse posts. You will also be unable to post replays to Youtube/Miiverse, share stages, or create tournaments.

Mario Kart 8: No longer able to post replays to Youtube/Miiverse or create tournaments.

Super Mario 3D World: You will still be able to collect stamps, but unable to post them to Miiverse. Miiverse posts will not appear on the course select screen.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: The BLADE report will no longer be available.
