Elaine thoughtfully wove her late mother’s presence throughout every part of the day—from wearing her mother’s veil, to Drew’s pocket square made from her wedding dress, to the engagement ring diamond that once belonged to her. Drew surprised Elaine by resetting that diamond with an aquamarine stone, making it her something old, new, borrowed, and blue—revealed for the very first time on their wedding day. Their wedding bands carried generations of love as well, with Drew wearing his grandfather’s ring and Elaine wearing her father’s.

Personal touches were everywhere: white balloons at the doors like her parents once had, their parents’ wedding cake knife, handwritten notes waiting for every guest at dinner, and private vows where Drew wanted to see Elaine as if for the very first time—followed by letters they wrote to one another, just for them.
