Documentary filmmaker Ezra Soiferman ("Grass Fed", "Man of Grease", "Tree Weeks", http://www.EzraSoiferman.com) spends a year as a fly-on-the-wall at Montreal's Goldman Herzl Family Practice Centre, examining the history, evolution, and present day of one of Canada's first free medical clinics, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012.

Herzl is located in the unlikely locale of a former Catholic convent on the grounds of Montreal's Jewish General Hospital, situated in Côte-des-Neiges, Canada's most multicultural neighbourhood. An innovative health care model, the Centre is recognized for pushing boundaries in areas such as family medicine, teen health, breastfeeding, urgent care, home visits, drug addiction, and palliative care.

Dockside to Bedside shadows Herzl's charismatic chief, Dr. Michael Malus, and traces Herzl's evolution from dockside dispensary, serving Jewish immigrants and Montreal's poor, into part of the bedrock of Canada's medical landscape, as a leader in preventative medicine and compassionate care.
