In partnership with CompositesWorld, this recorded webinar presents one of the first neutral, head-to-head comparative studies examining the use of graphene in a two-part epoxy composite system.
The study evaluates 17 different forms of graphene, dispersed into master batches and subsequently formulated at 0.1% and 0.5% graphene loadings by weight to produce test coupons. All testing was conducted at the Advanced Composites Center at the University of Maine, ensuring an independent, data-driven assessment of performance.
Results from the study demonstrated:
-Up to 70% improvement in flexural modulus
-Up to 30% improvement in flexural strength
Beyond the data, the webinar walks through how the project was conceived, executed, and validated, and explains how the research ultimately led to a commercially available, off-the-shelf enhanced bisphenol-F (bis-F) epoxy slurry—bridging the gap between academic study and real-world manufacturing application.
Webinar Agenda:
-Anonymous head-to-head comparison of 17 graphene materials
-Evaluation at 0.1% and 0.5% graphene loadings
-Discussion of mechanical property improvements
-Implications for the composites industry
-Pathway from research to commercial availability
Watch the full webinar to gain practical insight into graphene-enhanced composites, understand the performance trade-offs, and learn how manufacturers can begin evaluating this technology for their own applications.
