Turkish airstrikes have hit four locations including a petrol station and a civilian house in Amadiyah, Dohuk.
Turkey regularly carries out operations against its foe, the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), in Iraq - but locals complain they are being caught up in the attacks.
STORY-LINE:
The mangled wreckage of a petrol station in Amadiyah.
It was hit by a Turkish airstrike on Wednesday.
Nearby, damaged pipes still pump water - but out into the earth, rather than to houses in the area.
It's a strategic line which supplies Amadiyah with water, so work is already underway to fix it.
The town's mayor, Ismael Mustafa, says four locations were targeted by strikes.
Two missiles hit almond and grape farms in the surrounding areas and caused fires in the fields, damaging crops that are the sole source of income for the owners.
The mayor says attacks have disrupted life in the area.
"At 17:45 a missile was fired by a jet fighter on this petrol station that we are standing in now," he says.
"This petrol station is situated between Sulav and Amadiyah. It is on the main road, and this main road had to be closed for several hours."
Another airstrike hit the grounds of this home in Derey village, four kilometres (2.5 miles) from Amadiyah.
A huge crater shows the impact site.
The people living here are still dealing with the damage.
"We were inside and working, it is our house, where could we be? Where can we live?" says Maryam Markhai.
"We were doing our daily routine work. I was washing and taking the clothes from here and all of sudden couldn't see anything, it turned into what you are seeing now. God saved us."
The Turkish army carries out operations against Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) members in the border strip between Iraq and Turkey.
It considers the PKK to be a terrorist organisation.
But sometimes strikes hit civilian villages; people who are not involved in PKK activities.
"We don't feel safe even in our house," says Farid Markhai, house owner.
"It was only five metres or even less away from the house. If it fell on the house, we would be gone by now."
Three people were injured in the airstrikes.
