The huge expanses of the African savannas and grasslands are home to breathtaking soundscapes. These sounds are the ambience of our evolution as humans, and have been so for aeons. Somewhere in our genetic material, the sounds of African birds and insects are encoded and their meaning is home.
I've explored the continent of Africa over more than 20 expeditions and for this long-form soundscape video I select 12 hours of the best recordings from my extensive archive. I hope this brings some peace to whoever is listening.
