I hiked and flew the UNESCO world heritage site in Norway, the Nærøyfjord (Narrow Fjord).
Sheer walls and dramatic scenery made this a beautiful place to both hike and fly. My timing was a bit poor, as a helicopter came along the fjord just after I took off. As I didn't have a reserve and was in the mountain harness, I thought an unscheduled SIV was not a good idea at the time, so I stuck to the side I was on, only going over the water a long time after the helicopter had passed, and well below where it had been.
Landing was fun - I had a spot identified from the air, but on my approach I noticed loads of power lines and telephone lines late on - instead I had to land next to a church which involved approaching over a cemetery (good thing I'm not superstitious). It was a choice I made late on and meant no disrespect to any deceased.
