I headed over to Burger King at Gateshead Trinity Square to see what their double cheeseburger, small fries and a regular chocolate milkshake were really saying in 2026 — and for £9.97, I expected at least a normal‑sized burger. What I got instead… well, let’s just say the moment I opened the wrapper I literally said “What the F** is that?”* before censoring myself with a DJ scratch and a red tape bar across my mouth.

The burger was tiny, the bun was dry, and the pigeons circling me were acting like they’d seen a feast — even though the portion looked more like a snack. But here’s the twist: despite the size, the taste was slightly better than McDonald’s double cheeseburger, which honestly surprised me.

In the end, I scored this Burger King visit a 6.5/10. Not terrible, not great — just a shockingly small burger with a decent flavour trying to survive in Gateshead’s fast‑food scene.
