"In what has become an amazing training opportunity, as you can see behind us, we have accomplished a fully combined bridge across the Imjin River. It is a very important training opportunity to practice the interoperability of the U.S. and ROK (republic of Korea, or South Korea) soldiers. And once again I just want to say thank you on behalf of the United States army, for this opportunity to train with such professional fighting force that is Korean army. Thank you."

STORYLINE:
The South Korean and U.S. armies conducted joint wet gap crossing exercise Wednesday in Yeoncheon, located just below the border with North Korea.
During the exercise, both armies deployed air and land defense assets, while constructing bridges for crossing a river.
About 470 South Korean and U.S. soldiers participated in the exercise along with Chinook, and Apache helicopters.
The aim of Wednesday's exercise was to practice cooperation between South Korean and U.S. armies while ensuring the mobility of the combined forces.
