মুখ থুবরে পড়েছে সর্বজনীন পেনশন স্কিম। নতুন গ্রাহক তেমন যুক্ত হচ্ছেন না। বেশিরভাগ পুরান গ্রাহকও দিচ্ছেন না মাসিক চাঁদা। পুরোপুরি প্রস্তুতি না নিয়ে স্কিম চালু করায় এ অবস্থা; বলছেন অর্থনীতিবিদরা। পেনশন কর্তৃপক্ষ বলছে, গ্রাহক আকর্ষণে গ্র্যাচুইটি, বীমার মতো সুবিধা স্কিমে যুক্ত করা হবে।

The universal pension scheme is in shambles. New subscribers are not joining much. Most of the old subscribers are also not paying their monthly contributions. This is because the scheme was launched without full preparation; economists say. The pension authority says that benefits like gratuity and insurance will be added to the scheme to attract subscribers.
