Описание: Recorded in 1999, this special event brings together Vice Admiral Stockdale, his wife Sybil, fellow former POWs Rear Admiral Bob Shumaker, and Captain Jack Fellows. The evening was dedicated to their story of resilience, leadership in extremis, and moral courage, while held in the infamous Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam War. This event, hosted by Dr. Al Pierce, the director of the institution that was to become the Vice Admiral Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership, was divided into three parts: In the first, a documentary was shown, detailing the life of Stockdale. Next, Fellowes and Shumaker shared their stories. Finally, a fascinating sit-down interview of Admiral Stockdale conducted by Dr. Pierce. At the time, the "Center for the Study of Professional Military Ethics" was a newly minted entity on the Naval Academy Yard. This event is a treasured highlight of the Center's proud tradition.
