We dive into the chaotic world of zaag kicks 🪚🪚🪚 — one of the newest, most extreme and controversial sounds in hard techno music.
On top of trying to make a kick with a real saw, I also made the goofiest mashup and presented my interpretation of the zaag kick (there is no formal definition yet, I bet most zaag kicks aren't even made with sawtooth waves as a fundamental)
Again, I cannot overstate how there is not one standard way to make a zaagkick, everything I say are just suggestions. As long as it is loud and has bass, anything can become a uptempo kick.
