A typhoon passed through the night before our ride and left very slick conditions in the mountains in Yamanashi-ken, Japan. This was the first ride on my new 2019 250 EXC TPI. So what do I think of the bike? Plus point- the stock suspension felt a lot better than my 2017 KTM 250 EXC stock suspension and I don't feel like I'll need to change the springs. Minus point- power is OK, but a lot weaker and less responsive than my 2017 with a Keihin 38mm Air Striker and STIC metering block. It worked OK in the slick conditions, but the lack of low end made some sections more difficult than need be. I'll definitely be seeking more power and better response through engine and ECU mods.
