Beetroot & Sweet Potato Patties for Burgers
Ingredients
• 1 medium sweet potato, boiled & grated
• 1 medium beetroot, boiled & grated
• ½ cup sprouts (any variety)
• 1 green chili
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp ragi flour
• 3 tbsp besan (gram flour)
• ½ tsp chili powder
• ½ tsp chili flakes
• ½ tsp coriander powder
• ½ tsp cumin powder
• ½ tsp amchur (dry mango) powder
• ¼ tsp turmeric
• 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
• Bread crumbs (for coating)
• Oil for shallow frying
Instructions
1. Prepare the base
• Pressure cook beetroot and sweet potato until soft. Grate them into a mixing bowl.
2. Make sprouts blend
• In a blender, add sprouts, green chili, and salt. Blend coarsely, then add to the grated veggies.
3. Mix spices & binders
• Add ragi flour, besan, and all spices (chili powder, flakes, coriander, cumin, amchur, turmeric, ginger-garlic paste). Mix well.
4. Set the mixture
• Refrigerate the mixture for 1–2 hours to firm it up.
5. Shape patties
• Grind bread into coarse crumbs. Shape the mixture into patties, roll them in bread crumbs.
6. Cook
• Shallow fry the patties in a hot pan until golden and crisp on both sides.
7. Serve
• Enjoy as patties with your favorite dip or use them in burgers with fresh vegetables and sauces.
Storage Tip
• Make patties in bulk, separate with parchment paper, and freeze. Pan-fry directly when needed.
