This is the longplay of the game The Revenge of Shinobi (ザ ・ ス ー パ ー ・ 忍 The Super Shinobi in Japan), an electronic action and platform game developed and published by Sega in 1989. It is the second game of a saga, being the first Shinobi , started in arcades in 1987.

In the twentieth century, a terrible and powerful crime syndicate has emerged. Known as "Zeed", it was dismantled by the powers of ninjitsu possessed by master Shinobi: Joe Musashi. Everything seemed to be at peace, but then three years later, the world again fell into disgrace and destruction. "Zeed" had returned, much more powerful than before, now under the name "Neo Zeed" and being the largest criminal organization in the world, which spared no effort to destroy all ninjas possessing Ninjistu's abilities, including the master of Musashi, who in his last words tells his pupil that the beautiful Naoko (Musashi's bride) had been kidnapped by Neo Zeed.

And once again, Joe Musashi goes after “Neo Zeed” to avenge his companions and save his bride. He never sleeps. Never stops. And he will never give up.

In the game, we control ninja Joe Musashi, who started studying the secrets of ninja art from a young age. Determined, Joe Musashi started training and meditating every day and it didn't take long to become strong and master in ninja skills and Shurikens. Finally the day came when your Sensei, revealed the secrets of Shinobi, the art of ninja invisibility. Finally, he taught Ninjitsu - ninja magic. Musashi was now a ninja master. His hands and legs were deadly weapons. In his hands, a ninja weapon becomes an instrument of death.

The game has incredible graphics for its time, setting with a very oriental climate. Our hero has shurikens (to be thrown from a distance), a Ninja-To sword and his Ninjitsus:

Ikazuchi, which guarantees an electrical protection barrier;

Kariu, where the Ninja evokes pillars of fire;

Fushin, which allows the Ninja to jump much higher;

Mijin, that the Ninja sticks his sword in the ground and explodes everything on the screen).

The level of difficulty is very high, the gameplay is good but the double jump of this game is complicated and not very intuitive, however it is necessary to master this double jump to avoid losing life, in addition to being able to shoot multiple shurikens and reach places of difficult access. The soundtrack was composed by Yuzo Koshiro, being one of the most acclaimed of the beginning of the 16-bit generation.

This game was famous for making several references to pop culture icons (right at the opening, you see a ninja whose face is similar to that of japanese actor Sonny Chiba) and these references were removed as new revisions of the game were released. This is the first revision of the American version (REV01), with few changes compared to the Japanese version.
It is a very good game that deserves to be played by everyone and that marked the epoch on Mega Drive. The video was made with the best ending in the game.
