Right after Crash 1's opening where Crash breaks out of Cortex Castle, you're sent straight to the first level, N-Sanity Beach.
Here, Crash, after falling into an ocean, ends up on a different island, starting with its beach, N.Sanity Beach. Crash must now embark on a whirlwind adventure to save his girlfriend, Tawna. He also teams up with a witch doctor mask known as Aku Aku to stop Cortex's Island from polluting the environment.
Once again, this stage is pretty basic. First it starts out on a beach shore, then ends up going through a bit of a jungle, which has a fork in the road. Take the right path, first, then when the fork merges back to get, go down the left path from there to get the missing crates.
Crash 1 has benefited the most from N-Sane Trilogy's improvements, namely in its save system and its ability to hold crates. In the PS1 version, if you died at all during a level, you can't get the Clear Gem even if dying started you back at the beginning. N-Sane Trilogy fixes that nuisance by storing crates no matter how many times you died between Check Points. You can also check your inventory to see how many crates you smashed open out of the level's full total, just like in Crash 3.
A big holographic crate will show up at the end right before the exit teleporter, and it will release the Gem if you got all of the crates, just like Crash 2 and onward. However, this also means you can still completely skip the Gem even after getting all of the crates, but why would use want to do that?!
Loading a level up takes longer to do compared to the original games, but they not as damningly long as the PS2 version of Wrath of Cortex's, and they also compensate by giving you Aku Aku hints like in the Japanese version of the original games.
Despite having Crash 2 and 3 as a part of this Trilogy, Crash is still locked out from using any of his Circle techniques when playing Crash 1, so no Crawling, no Sliding, no High Jump, and no Body Slam. Another thing brought into this game from Crash 3 is that the Bouncy Crates now break after 5 bounces instead of 10, making getting all 10 Wumpa Fruit from them faster.
Crash 1, as well as Crash 2, in the N-Sane Trilogy also have Time Trials like in Crash 3, yellow Time Crates, Relics and all, but Crash 1 and 2 don't make those necessary to beat the whole game compared to Crash 3 (they don't unlock anything besides your PS4 Trophies), so I'm gonna skip out on doing those for now.
There are still further changes than all of this to cover, but I'll talk about them as I upload more videos for this game.
I've already beaten this entire game in preparation for this recorded playthrough. As you can see from my auto-save file, this also includes the Stormy Ascent DLC level.

I will be matching each video I have for N-Sane Trilogy up with its PS1 equivalent on my channel as much as I can. So to start this off, if you enjoyed this video, check out my video of my original PS1 run through this level and see how they compare, here!
