Finnish goaltender Kari Lehtonen was torched by Alex Ovechkin time and time again, conceding 22 goals to the Russian forward in 27 meetings. This is more than any other goalie scored on Lehtonen, with Jeff Carter's 15 in 32 appearances next-best. Moreover, this is tied for the third-most Ovechkin has scored against any goalie with Carey Price, only trailing Marc-Andre Fleury (27) and Henrik Lundqvist (24). 16 of Ovechkin's goals came in just his first 3 seasons in the league, when Lehtonen was a member of the Thrashers, with the last 6 being scored against a Lehtonen-backstopped Stars. The first time Ovi victimized this goalie was New Year's Day in 2006 and the last was March 20, 2018. This head-to-head matchup resulted in 4 multi-goal games, 1 hat trick, and 1 overtime winner for the Great Eight.
To make matters worse for Lehtonen, Ovechkin found several milestone markers against him.
