President John Dramani Mahama visited Zambia on a state visit proudly wearing Ghana’s traditional attire, Fugu (also known as Smock). Unfortunately, some Zambians mocked this beautiful African cultural wear, calling it names like “ladies’ blouse” and “parachute.”
In this video, I address why such comments are disrespectful and unnecessary, especially coming from a fellow African country. African culture is rich and diverse, and no traditional attire deserves ridicule.
This discussion is not about hate or insults — it’s about respect, African unity, and cultural pride. If we truly believe in Pan-Africanism, then we must learn to appreciate one another’s traditions instead of tearing them down.
