This is an instructional video on how to use the Bellows Curve setting on the Roland FR-1x.
On a traditional accordion the bellows allow you to get expression - loud and soft sounds from the notes. There are sensors in the bellows of the FR-1x (also the other Roland Accordions - 4x and 8x) that will do this job for you. The beauty of a sound modeling accordion is that you can set how this works for you. Anywhere from playing soft without moving the bellows, to playing loud. Also, it gives you the ability to adjust how hard you have to push or pull on the bellows to get the expression you want.
On the FR-1x, you may also adjust how much air is let into the bellows. I don't allow much air flow because I don't like the sound of escaping air as I am playing.
At only 14 pounds and the bellows curve settings, the Roland FR-1x can be played by a lot of people who could not play a traditional accordion because of health issues.
