Premiering at the Venice Film Festival, Scandar Copti’s (Ajami) film follows a Palestinian and an Israeli family, divided into four character-driven chapters. When Rami’s pregnant Jewish girlfriend decides to keep their baby, both families confront patriarchal traditions and societal pressures. Using cinéma vérité and non-professional actors, Copti crafts an authentic, multi-layered narrative.
