(ZANIS) Information and Media Minister CORNELIUS MWEETWA has called on women to take advantage of the opportunity to contest political positions as Zambia heads to the polls in August 2026.
Mr MWEETWA who is also Chief Government Spokesperson says the current environment in the country is peaceful and no longer threatening, making it possible for more women to participate in politics.
He says government has continued to create opportunities for women through legislative reforms and programmes aimed at improving economic empowerment.
Mr. MWEETWA was speaking in Choma today during the international women's commemoration.
