French Cleat Holders - Drill, Driver, Charging Station with Kreg K5 // Woodworking Shop Organization

Описание: Hello and welcome to WoodShaped. My name is Adam Noe. Watch me expand my French Cleat wall by adding additional holders/racks. I'll be building a drill/driver station with charging as well as a holder for my Kreg Jig K5.

I started with the K5. I usually like to measure out the tool shape and dimensions and then start cutting the wood. I've not actually built plans for any of these holders but hopefully this video is enough to assist you in building your own if you decide to build these. I measured the K5 and then made my cuts on the pure bond birch plywood. This holder was a pretty simple process, the more complex part was the cleat. For the K5 most will build a platform to attach the K5 and it actually comes with screw holes to do just that. I simply attached to the plywood and then drilled holes for dowels. The dowels were glued to the cleat and that was the hanging mechanism. Off camera I decided to drill another hole to hang the K5 vertically and that's what you see in the thumbnail.

Next was on to the drill, driver, jigsaw, charging station. I opted to design this with the tools hanging upside down. One of the main reasons was due to extra space for batteries in the back and the other was to avoid any stress on the forward/reverse switch. I also included a cubbie for sanding pads. The top can just be a general shelf. This holder was a cool process.

I routed dado slots for the shelves and this was purely for a more sound structural outcome. I opted for a mini sized version since I currently only own what fits on the holder so I'll build another one if I end up expanding my drill collection. I glued up the frame and used the pin nailer to get the general box shape of the holder, routed the dados and then cut the shelves to length as well as the other pieces for the drills. I used the fast cap drill bit to drill holes for the drill shelf for extra holding power as well as for the the cleat and the drove in #8 1 1/4" Highpoint screws. It's important to use this method for securing the cleat because you don't want the screws to protrude causing the cleat not to lay flat.

For the charger, I simply put screws on the side and used the built in holes to hang it. Fits very stable. I ran the cable to the back and through 2 cleats and to the outlet.
